Ultimate Multi-Day Hiking Tour in Wadi Rum (Flexible Trekking)
This is our most complete hiking experience in Wadi Rum. Spend 2+ days exploring the Protected Area on foot with local Bedouin guides - combining mountains, scrambling, canyons, and vast open valleys. You choose your Day 1 hike in advance, then we plan the rest together each evening based on your energy, interests, and the conditions.
Base price: 75 JOD per person, per day (includes overnight in a standard tent at our camp). Optional upgrades: sleep under the stars (+15 JOD/person/night) or private bathroom tent (+10 JOD/person/night).
Why this is the ultimate hiking tour in Wadi Rum
Wadi Rum is not just a desert you drive through - it’s a landscape you feel best step by step. Over multiple days, you can move beyond the “highlights list” and experience the full variety of terrain: sandstone canyons, granite mountains, hidden passages, and wide valleys that change color every hour.
This tour is built for travelers who want real exploration without stress. We keep the experience simple and authentic: guided hiking during the day, traditional meals, sunset moments, and a comfortable desert camp at night - plus the option to sleep under the stars.
Best for: active travelers, hikers, photographers, couples, solo travelers, and small groups looking for a flexible itinerary and local expertise.
How it works: planned start, flexible days
Day 1 is decided in advance. You choose one of four signature hikes (mountain summit, ridge hike, canyon scramble, or iconic arch scramble). This guarantees you start your trip with the route that excites you most.
From Day 2 onward, we plan together each evening. After dinner, you sit with the Wadi Rum Nature Tours team and choose the next day’s adventure based on what you feel like: more mountains, more scrambling, deep canyon hiking, long valley walks, or a balanced mix.
- More adventurous? We can include more scrambling and steeper terrain.
- Prefer moderate hiking? We’ll focus on easier routes with incredible views.
- Want variety? Mix mountains + canyons + open desert valleys across multiple days.
Our goal: a multi-day trekking experience that feels personal, safe, and unforgettable - never “one size fits all.”
Day 1 hiking options (choose one in advance)
Pick your first-day hike before you arrive. Each option offers a different style of terrain and a different “wow” moment. If you’re not sure, we’ll recommend the best match for your fitness level and comfort with exposure/scrambling.
Option A - Jabal Umm ad Dami (Jordan’s highest peak)
A classic summit hike in the southern part of the Protected Area, famous for huge panoramic views. On clear days, you may see deep into the surrounding desert landscapes. A strong choice if you want a big “top of the world” feeling on Day 1.
- Style: mountain hike + summit views
- Good for: hikers who want a proud “highest peak” moment
- Intensity: moderate to challenging (depends on pace)
Option B - Jebel Al Khash (wide ridge & desert panoramas)
A scenic mountain hike often loved for its accessible rhythm and wide-open viewpoints. Great if you want a rewarding hike without feeling rushed - perfect for warming up on the first day and setting the tone for multiple days on foot.
- Style: ridge/plateau walking + big views
- Good for: travelers who want a beautiful, steady hike
- Intensity: moderate
Option C - Rakhabat Canyon (scrambling canyon crossing)
A dramatic canyon route where the terrain becomes part of the fun: rock slabs, natural steps, and light scrambling through a sandstone corridor. Ideal for guests who want a more adventurous “route-finding” feel while still staying guided and safe.
- Style: canyon hiking + scrambling
- Good for: adventurous hikers who enjoy using hands occasionally
- Intensity: moderate to challenging (route-dependent)
Option D - Burdah Rock Arch/Bridge (iconic scramble)
One of Wadi Rum’s most iconic scrambling objectives. Expect hands-on sections and exposed viewpoints, rewarded by an unforgettable natural arch/bridge high above the desert. Choose this if you want the most “epic” feeling on Day 1.
- Style: steep hike + scrambling + iconic arch/bridge
- Good for: confident hikers comfortable with exposure
- Intensity: challenging (pace and route matter)
Safety note: Some routes include scrambling and exposed sections. Your guide adapts the route to your comfort, and we avoid unsafe conditions.

FAQ
How many days should we book?
We recommend 3 days for the best variety (mountains + canyons + valleys). If you can, 4+ days gives you the true “ultimate trekking” experience.
Is this tour suitable for beginners?
Yes—many routes can be kept moderate. If you choose a more technical Day 1 option (like Burdah or Rakhabat), you should be comfortable with light scrambling and exposure. We always adapt the pace and the route.
Do we need climbing equipment?
No technical climbing equipment is required for the standard versions of these hikes. Some scrambling routes may use a rope briefly for guidance/safety depending on conditions and group comfort.
Can we change our Day 1 choice after booking?
Usually yes, if you tell us in advance and it fits logistics and conditions. The key idea is simply that Day 1 is decided before arrival.
What is the difference between “sleep under the stars” and the camp?
The base price includes a standard tent at our camp. For an extra +15 JOD/person/night, you can sleep outside under the stars (bedding provided). For extra comfort, you can upgrade to a private bathroom tent (+10 JOD/person/night).
How do we book?
Send us your dates, group size, and your preferred Day 1 option. We’ll confirm availability and help you choose the best multi-day plan.
